Coup Time??? psssshhh!

i'm sure that you've heard a little at least of what's happening here in Fiji and i can't blame you if you've heard something really, really wicked like they're killing people here and stuff like that but no it's not happening and i doubt it'll even happen.

i'mm just taking this time to OFFICIALLY say that i support the military takeover of government coz i hated the SDL govt in the first place! if i had the chance to vote, i would vote for the Alliance party not SDL. So Frank and his peeps got my vote. i'm actually happy that this is happening. as a journalist, i've heard alot of unnflattering things about our former govt and how they have been running things here in Fiji. How will our government defend themselves when the military begins to reveal where all those millions of dollars have gone missing.

i just want to tell all my family overseas and anyone else that wants to know that what is happening here is not affecting the normalcy of life (for me anyways....'cept of course for my mum who wants to ground me) here in Fiji. Life is going on as usual, the only difference is that the military is running government and it's doing its best to prevent village idiots from looting and destrying our towns and homes.

i dont' know when i'll stop singing the commanders praise but he has my unequivocal support for the clean-up campaign. you can form your own opinions coz you're entititled to it.

Yes i'm bummed out about the postponement of several events that were due to take place next month but i know and believe that its gonna work out good for the betterment of our nation. critics and all these *smart* people are saying that this "coup" has set Fiji's development back by 10 years but i disagree and i'm believing that everything will be sorted out by next month and life will definately go on as usual minus a few politicians and *maybe* a changed constitution.

I've heard so much through the pipeline that i would love to share but i can't coz i might get prosecuted but believe that what the military is doing is right and all will be revealed sooner rather than later. Other pacific nations better take a moment to learn a lesson from Fiji's experiences. it would be good for them.

Now on to the issue of foreign intervention and all that stuff.... i think australia, new zealand and america (britain too) should stick it and stay out of our business. they can put up as many trade sanctions and visa restriction they want, we can easily find aid in the form of our Asian counterparts who are familliar with what we are going through. Out of all the nations in the world, the asians, americas and the middle eastern nations are the only ones that know and understand what is happening. So it'd probably be to them that we will turn to for aid. China would easily snap up at the chance to be an aid provider for Fiji, so too would malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and even India. So all the caucasian nations can stuff themselves. They are just a bunch of policy freaks who are the most racist in this day and age.

To my family members living in those said countries, don't worry i'm not dissing you it's just that those countries need to know when their input is needed and when it isn't.

So that's my two cents worth on the coup issue, which i doubt is even an issue. The media needs to watch itself, i've noticed that several reporters have broken many reporting ethics and they will face the consequences of it. I'm glad that i'm just staying home and keeping an eye on Jessica. I will be called in one day to report on a case but until then, i've just been told by my lecturer to keep a journal on all the things happening. i'd have to buy a book and get news paper clippings and such. i'd also need to write up my own opinions of what's happening. which is what i'm doing now.

hope you enjoyed reading this!
